filter with top n - does it limit data export or only visual ?
Hi all
Currently using destop version so i have limited access to transformation and cannot download data.
So my quuestion is :
If i add a filter on details with top n ( lets say top 10k rows) , when user exports the data will it only export the top 10k ? or is this filter only for the visual and all data will be exported ?
I want to have a visual with better performance so limiting number of records in it , but i want the user to be able to download all records.
Thank you in advance
Hi, ruisadias ,

Only the data filtered by the filter is exported, not all of it. Secondly, the maximum limit for exporting CSV data with Power BI is 30,000 lines.
If you publish to service then export , you could export 150000lines.- Go to app.powerbi.com and choose a report you have access to
Click on “…” at the top right of the desired visual, then click the “Export data” button
https://www.upslide.net/en/how-to-export-power-bi-to-excel/ - or you could right click, then copy table to excel.
