différences between report and dataset ?

Hello, I made reports in Power BI Desktop and I then published them. What I don't understand is that sometimes I end up in the workspace, in Power BI Service, with only one line that is my report a...

    When you work in Power BI Desktop in Import mode, if you publish the pbix, it will generate a Report and Dataset in the workspace.

    If you work in Power BI Desktop in Direct Query/Live Connection mode, after publishing the pbix, it will only generate Report in the workspace.

    Report is where you can see the visualizations. Those visualizations are driven by your Dataset (contains your data model). That means you can also create multiple Reports from 1 Dataset.
