date range parameter not working with incremental refresh in power bi service

Hello,

I'm having issue with date range parameter particular RangeEnd parameter where I have adjust the paramter date for reporting.

When I give RangeEnd - 7  and  RangeEnd -2   to provide the native query to get only 1 week worth of data, it works fine in PBI desktop.  However when I publish to PBI service,  it's getting much more data than what I have given in the date range.

I have incremental refresh setting for the fact table, I have archive last 12 months data and incremental refersh last 5 days.

Any help appreciated!

Hi @krishnj ,

Could you please check the in Set import and refresh ranges > Incrementally refresh this table click the slider to On.

If the slider is disabled, it means the Power Query expression for the table does not include a filter based on the RangeStart and RangeEnd parameters.

And you need to set up the Specify optional settings.

The values of RangeStart and RangeEnd are only placeholders (You can abuse them for development purposes to limit the amount of data to develop with).  They have absolutely NO role when running the actual incremental refresh. That is entirely defined by your rules (12 months/5 days).
