We are starting to implement dataflows for our reports.
We are not considering doing the query part in dataflows but in PB desktop. Dataflows will only use for source.
I wonder If this, dataflow, is still more efficient regarding refresh time etc.. than via the normal way.

While connecting Power BI Dataflow into Desktop, it is live connection mode. So, in theory, it is as fast as in Service. But in fact, we may need to wait for a few seconds or minutes. It depends on the report itself. You could reference the blog to optimize the performance of dataflow.
