Anonymous have you been able to fix this? I'm encountering the same issue, except I also own the CosmosDB instance. I'm using the same read-only key both for PowerBI Desktop and for refreshing the data online – the desktop version works flawlessly, but when I try it online I receive the same error you reported.
Hi BogdanStancescu So yes sorted it. From what I can gather when you set this up first time it is without a key. At some point it then wants one. Being azure the key is there so it was a case of adding it. I added it on the desktop which worked fine.
I do have an odd issue where azure hasn't got recent data, but I do now have azure and powerbi matching.
