what my power bi dashboard is not refreshing the data in power bi workspace even though refresh status is completed but same dashboard is getting refreshed in manual refresh in desktop mode
Hi @sor_kum99 ,
Firstly, it's important to understand that data refreshing in Power BI can be performed in two main ways: manually or through a scheduled refresh. Since you've mentioned that manual refresh in desktop mode works correctly, but the scheduled refresh in the Power BI service does not update the dashboard, we should focus on the configuration and settings within the Power BI service.
Here are a few steps and checks to consider:
1.Verify Scheduled Refresh Configuration: Ensure that your dataset's scheduled refresh is correctly configured. This includes checking the refresh frequency and time settings. For more detailed guidance, please refer to Configure scheduled refresh - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
2.Check Data Source Credentials: In the Power BI service, navigate to your dataset settings and verify that the data source credentials are up to date and have the necessary permissions to access the data source. Incorrect or expired credentials can prevent a successful refresh.
3.Review Gateway Connection (If Applicable): If your data source requires a gateway for connectivity (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle), ensure that the gateway is online and configured correctly. This is a common point of failure for refresh issues.
4.Inspect Dataset Errors: After a scheduled refresh attempt, check for any errors that might have occurred during the refresh process. Power BI service provides detailed error messages that can help diagnose the issue. Navigate to the dataset settings, and under the "Refresh history" section, review any errors or warnings.
If the refresh history shows completed, wait 10-15 minutes for a refresh to be reflected in the dashboard tiles. If it still doesn't show up, repin the visualization to the dashboard.
