Impactful Individualdata dictionary like properties and reusability
You have to assume that in a reasonably sized company (more than a couple thousand employees) Power BI and Azure are not the only tools and platforms being used in that company. Smaller companies may be a "single shop" environment and may be easier to manage from a data stewardship perspective. Larger companies have enormous amounts of data subjects, way beyond your example of sales / product management / manufacturing. They also tend to have a lot more politics and fiscal chopstick battles.
Impactful Individualthx lbendlin, unfortunately (as far as i can tell right now) advocating as you suggest would equate to advocating not to use pbi in its current state...unless the new data mart feature (which i havent tried/read yet) starts addressing these kinds of shortcomings. In my mind, a certified sales query want to look up product info. So too does a certified shop floor query. I cant help feeling like I'm missing something.
