build usage statistics dashbaord?

We use the Power BI activity logs to extract audit data from our entire tenant which we can then transform, integrate and model to our needs. If you have not seen the following already, I suggest you give it a read: Build Your Own Power BI Audit Log; Usage Metrics Across the Entire Tenant - RADACAD
There are also some new features due soon out-of-the-box so to speak, though this in itself does not solve the user data enrichment requirement you have:
