bi wont start

stays hung up and says "initializing model", have followed other forums and tried reinstalling win10, I continue to get errors at full reinstall and reset.  Other options before I send my box out for work or buy a new machine?

    Can you possibly put in an image of what the issue is?

     

    As well as what do you do to get this error.

      I had a problem with a machine that didn't like the 64-Bit version.  I installed the 32-BIt and it worked.  Sadly for me 32-Bit wasn't able to handle some of things we needed to do, but it might be worth a try for you.  Try uninstalling and putting on the other version.

    The start up screen says "Initializing Model", hangs up and never starts.  

     

    Upon Googling it this appears to be a known and widespread issue, message boards are loaded.

     

    I uninstalled the 64 bit version (I came across this solution and the requirement is that BI matches the version of Office (which was 32 bit in my case)), installed 32 bit version, same result.

      Hi gmarta,

       

      Can you please do some additional test to help us ensure which place caused the issue?

       

      For example:

      1. Test to install current power bi package and other version on your device.
      2. Test to install current power bi package and other version on other device.

       

      Please share the detail test result for us. it will be help for troubleshooting.
