azure data refresh not working

Hi,

 

I have report pointed to Azure database and have configured the data refresh schedule 8 times a day every hour, the refresh history shows status as completed but I cannot see the latest values. to solve this I have to delete the published report and refresh the import pbix file on local desktop and re-publish and reconfigure the schedule.. this is happening very frequently... any idea? I read in help files that for import mode report on Azure does not required a gateway, is that correct?

    Hi Anonymous ,

    I think you are upload your pbix to azure site and direct get data from azure on power bi service side, right?

    If this is case, pbix report datasource update not trigger refresh. (power bi service check the pbxi file instead dataource)

    For pbix file itself, it can't auto updated. So if you replace uploaded pbix file, power bi service compare cached data with source data and find the difference, then scheduler refresh triggered.

    I'd like to suggest you to sign in your account on desktop client and use publish feature to publish your report to service side.
