automatic refreshes in a dashboard
Hi, what part of the various pbi service products do i need if i want a dashboard in the factory to continually refresh with safety and productivity info? i gues you'd call this streaming but honestly we may be happy with a 30 minute refresh. would we want more direct connections or would datsets with an acceptable refresh frequency do just as well?

Hi db042190 ,
Embedded your report to PPT then you will be able to auto refresh.
In manufacturing plants I have seen people doing the same.
I hope it will be helpful.
Thanks,

thx Sai Teja, you mean without someone pressing a button? that is not what i expected. Is there no other pbi based solution? Maybe streaming? i'm a little reluctant to start doing things like this with power point.

Hi db042190 ,
Yes, without clicking any button.
The people I know will be using a slideshow mode most of the time.
Thanks,

what sai teja says is interesting. can sai teja or the rest of the community tell me if the following is an alternative and what MS had in mind for this class of problem? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-real-time-streaming . i scanned it quickly and got the impression the datsets / semantic models get updated in a streaming fashion (push/pull etc) but didnt see anything saying the dashboards and or reports would react in a streaming fashion without a button being pushed. and if not too much trouble, what kind of licensing would be necesary? right now we live with pro for all users.
