Hi,
there were several topics like this, but i couldn't find anything recent so maybe solution now exists.
We have serveral tenants in our organization. I want to allow access to dataset for other tenant users to analyzing reports in excel (OLAP).
So far I've manged to give access to Power BI report and user can click 'analyze in excel' button in report. After download excel with pivot (OLAP) table user can't refresh the dataset (an error occures: Forbidden Activity ID: )
Every option from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-dataset-external-org-share-admi... has been switched on by azure admin but OLAP's still not working.
Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?
If not is there any plans in Power BI team to give ablity to analyze in excel for users from other tenants?
Best regards,
Rafal
@GilbertQ thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately user can see only shared report (after I gave access) but he can't see dataset.
I gave permissions for Read, Build in 'Manage Permissions'
Hi @truscioch
What happens if the user goes to Power BI Home, then clicks on From External Orgs as shown below.
Then click on a dataset, once that opens then click on Analyze in Excel?
