Zoom slider stops working when reports are published

I have several trend line graphs with zoom slider on the y-axis. Everything works on the desktop version of PowerBI but nothing seems to work after the reports are published.

Further, I tried a number of things that claim to fix the zoom slider not responding problem, some graphs respond to them while others do not. They are almost identical graphs (copy pasted with the data swapped)

  1. turn off yaxis range, set to auto

  2. turn off constant line

  3. turn off data label

Working in local version:

Not working in published version in app.powerbi.com

So excitingly, I discovered yesterday that this seems to be fixed and a couple of colleagues have confirmed today! Has anyone else found this, or am I wrong to get my hopes up?? My graphs are line charts with markers and fixed y-axis minimums. @fuser-yan @rnelson

It also seems to be fixed for me! I hope it stays this way

Hi all,

The issue still persists with the 12.1 train.

There is no estimated time for resolution, the PG team is working on it. I'll keep you updated here if there's any new news.

Thank you for your understanding.

Jarvis Tang

@Anonymous thank you for your message in October. Is mid-January still the anticipated timescale for this fix? I will be publishing a Power BI report externally next week (so need the markers for the line graph to be accessible for colour-blind people) - wondering if the zoom sliders will be back working?

Hi @fuser-yan

This issue has been submitted internally. ETA for fix is 12.1 Train (12/10). Please be patient to wait for fixing. If there is any news, I will update it here.

Here's the survey from the PG team:

User experience:

Value-axis (Vertical/Y axis) zoom controls may not work correctly for line-charts (or its varieties, such as area chart or starcked area chart) if,
- markers are enabled (most common case)
- stacked totals are enabled (for stacked chart variety)
- anomaly markers enabled.

Workaround:

None - Users can remove configurations that cause the issue. (Disable line markers/ or stacked totals/ or anomaly markers)

Best Regards,
Jarvis Tang

Replying to note that we are having the same issue.  We'll be looking for the 12.1 Train (12/10) update to hopefully resolve the issue.
