Your Power BI session expired - Testing Fabric Direct Lake Modeling

Hi,

I have a trial Fabric Worspace set up in our premium capacity.  I am currently trying to work with a Direct Lake semantic model based off a lakehouse artifact but keep getting this error (pasted below).

Tried a few things I saw incluing using Chrome/Edge browsers with cleared cache etc

Tried using incognito mode too based on some posts that I saw as well.

I am an Admin on the WS and I also have access to the underlying data lake/delta files. I am able to query the Lakehouse successfully too. (sql endpoint and via notebooks)

Thanks,

Anand

Update: This was later confirmed as bug behaviour while using the UI by MS support which was resolved on 02/16/24. The bug no longer exists at this point.

Thanks,

Anand

Hi, it does feel like an authentication issue but I am not sure what would the cause for that.

1. Thats why I tried querying the lakehouse artifact using Sql endpoint/notebooks to see if there were issues reading the delta parquet files from the lake and there were none.

2. I was able to add 2 tables(1 fact/ 1 dim) into that semantic model and make a relationship. The issue started to surface as i was adding more tables (dims) into the model. So if it worked for 2 tables, then I dont see other tables having any different behavior.(authentication related)

I am an admin at the workspace level.

Thanks,

Anand

Hi  @AnandGNR

Are you the owner of this Direct Lake Semantic Model?  It's possible that the error is a permissions issue. What type of admin are you?
