I have many SSAS MD cubes that have semantic models published to power bi workspaces. The cubes are connected live via a data gateway to on-prem SSAS MD Cubes. I have tried connecting to these via excel but since they workspaces are set up to look like tabular instances, is there anything I can do to get a coneection to an MD cube working.

Hi @mchapman Unfortunately, it is not possible to connect via the power BI service to a multidimensional cubes. You will have to connect directly to the cube, which you'll then have to open up to the Internet.

That's too bad I was really hoping they were going to open it up for MD cubes. We're starting to think the only way to keep the hackers our of our network is to keep our people out too. This would have been a big step in that direction
haha fair enough, if you have got the right authentication in place I find the data is secure in the Power BI Service.
