Workspace cannot be reassigned because it includes Fabric items or you're attempting to move...

Hello

We have a purchased PowerBI Embedded Capacity that we have been successfully using for a couple of years until now.

Few days ago capacity got deallocated from the Workspace.

When I try to assign it back to PowerBI workspace I am getting this:

How would you recommend to troubleshoot it? We have around a hundread of reports. Also, we don't really undersatand how region can be viewed for the report.

Also, do I correctly understand that region mentioned in the error is this one:

  • Figured out it was caused by a Power App created for expiriments months ago. Not sure why it only happended just now. Probably because of Fabric Trial period?

Anyway, we have deleted that app and now everything works well.

  • Hi rkhabibulin

The error is genuine and points to two supported causes: your workspace contains Fabric items (like Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Science artifacts) or it’s tied to a different region than your Embedded capacity.

Power BI currently does not allow reassigning such workspaces to Embedded.

    I suggest following these steps:

    • Open the workspace and remove any Fabric items so only Power BI reports/datasets remain.
    • Check the workspace region in Settings → Premium/Embedded; it must match the region of your Embedded capacity.
    • Clear any soft‑deleted items from the workspace (visible in the Admin portal).
    • If the mismatch persists, create a new workspace in the same region as your Embedded capacity and migrate your reports there.

Did it work? 👍 A kudos would be appreciated

      thanks, for reply.

I can't see  "Settings → Premium/Embedded" in the settings popup:
