Workspace Sprawl

My company is starting to use Power BI a LOT more now. But with that, it seems that every time a new Group is added, with me as a member, there is also a new Workspace. There are probably two dozen Workspaces of which I am a member, but have nothing in them: no dashboards, reports, datasets or workbooks.

Can I safely DELETE the workspace without harming other Office apps (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)?

If I choose to LEAVE the workspace, will my membership in the Team get removed?

And finally, how should we go about creating Teams such that it does NOT include a Power BI App Workspace?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi ToddChitt ,

you can delete a PBI Workspace and the Team will remain.

You can leave a workspace but you remain in the team.

I don't know If there is a possibillity to create a team without creating a PBI Workspace :D, don't see a button to deactivite or something.

    Best,

    Kathrin

Thanks for the quick reply. I did some live testing and am a little concerned. We had a Team and Workspace. The Team had files; The Workspace was empty.

      I deleted the Workspace.

Now, I can't access the Files in the Team site. It still says that I am an OWNER of the Team Channel, but won't let me get to the files.

I thought they were supposed to de-couple the integration of Groups and Teams and App Workspaces like a year ago with the new Workspace design.

Honestly, I see this as a bug
