Helper IIIWorkspace Members Permissions Vs Gateway Permissions
Hi,
I discovered that members in a workspace i created can refresh reports in that workspace, connected with live connection to SSAS (tabular cube) although they are not users in that SSAS data source in the gateway.
can someone explain this behaviour? Is this the expected behaviour?

You mean you didn't add the users in the following box? If it is, if the users are the members who have edit Power BI context permission of the group, they can refresh the dataset without being added in the gateway as I tested. When they click refresh, the service will verify the saved credentials created by the owner of the dataset. So it's a expected bahaviour as I tested.

I didn't add the users to the data source Users tab under the gateway (your image shows the administrators tab on the gateway level).
according to what you are saying, if i share a dashboard with someone that don't have aceess to the dashboard's data source (in the users tab of the data source under gateway management) then that someone can access the dashboard's data because the dashboard's data set retreive the data from the data souce using my user name?

No, for my scenario, the prerequisite is you and the users are the members in the app workspace, and all of you have edit Power BI context permission. In my scenario, you don't need to share dashboard to the users, all members with edit permisson in the app worksplace have access to see the dashboad, report and dataset.
For your scenario, you create a dashboard in your own workspace, and you share a dashboard with someone? If it is, all recipients have no access to see the your dataset. Please review more details here.
