Working of Incremental Refresh when detect data changes is enabled

Hello,

Can anyone guide me as to what is the backend process when Incremental Refresh is configured along with 'Detect data changes'.

Would it refresh all the data and see if there is any change in the data? Or it would just look into the field which is configured in 'Detect data changes'?

Please mention any links where it has been explained that how Incremental Refresh works.

Thanks in advance.
Can you guys please help? @Greg_Deckler @parry2k @mwegener @v-lionel-msft

Hi @rajulshah ,

Take the configuration in the document as an example.
If the "Detect data changes" option is not turned on, the data of the last 10 days will be refreshed each time the refresh schedule is executed.
If the "Detect data changes" option is enabled, the refresh range will be further reduced (only rows updated in 10 days.).

Hi @rajulshah,

this is a difficult topic, where I have not seen many examples yet.

The documentation says the following:

The maximum value of this column is evaluated for each of the periods in the incremental range. If it has not changed since the last refresh, there is no need to refresh the period.

So it it would just look into the field which is configured in 'Detect data changes'.
