Working With SharePoint List

I have a data model that is connected to various sources including several sharepoint lists that contain transactional data that users update when changes are made.  These changes need to be reflected in the data model as soon as they are made,  trying to figure out the best way to do this.  I am using the power bi service with premium.  Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Unfortunatly powerbi does not support live connection with sharepoint list currently. you can still update your report in real time  with power automate flow. this post will help you to create live dataset with sharepoint list which will update in real time when new item is added to you rsharepoint list:

SharePoint doesn't support direct query for Power BI. This is where Microsoft draws the line licensing-wise, my impression is that what they want you to do is make things like this using Dataverse and Power Apps (premium), then direct query that with Power BI instead of squeaking by with SharePoint.

Seems that way,  I have a premium workspace so from what I am seeing I can do import and refresh the data up to 48 times in a day.  I think that should be ok for my use case.  Just now looking at how to just refresh the tables that come from sharepoint when I an item is added and not the entire model since some of  the other data is rather large.

Yeah, you might look into doing incremental refresh perhaps? SharePoint has some throttling thresholds on how many queries you can make in a span of time, so my guess is it won't love 48 refreshes per day, but I could be wrong. 😅

So I dont think that you can do a live query to a sharepoint list,  anyone have any other suggestions or thoughts?

have you tried using live query?

I am going to try that,  do you know if I can then use that live data in the data model?  For instance as the data is changed/updated in the sharepoint list it needs to be reflected in the model. I have not worked with live query  and import yet.
