Will gateway data source permission inherit to developer ?

Scenario: A gateway needs to be configured with Data source connection using a service account  with  read  permissions to  all Data. ( SAP BW).

Developers will use their own credentials [ which has restricted access] to connec to Data source in their PBI  Desktop and  later will use  above GW to auto refresh the data.

Question: Apart from the developers limited  permissions that his id has in  BW, will gateway configuration grant him more access? [ since the gateway will be conected to data source using an account with higher permissions]

For permissions, normally power bi gateway request admin permission, if not contains write-back features and will encrypted data and credentials before send data.
