Why is visual rendering consuming so much browser resources?
I have a few PBI-reports that are live connected to SSAS tabular and the reports are up and running all day supporting shift crew with KPI data. The SSAS model is processed about every 15 minutes and there is not really much data in it(<100 MB). We refresh the browser with an add-on.
There is quote a lot of visuals in the reports and the reports render really slow. Chrome consumes about 800 MB for one report, Edge over 1 GB.
How can that be possible?
As a test I put all KPI:s in one table visual and the report went blistering fast.

In the DirectQuery or live connection case, when users visit a Power BI report, Power BI sends queries in real time to the underlying data source. Once the data source returns with the query data, then the report is rendered. As a result, your report performance in these cases depends largely on the performance of the underlying data source.
