Why i cannot see the SharePoint Team site from Workspaces ?

Hello,

For some SharePoint Team sites, as long as I'm Microsoft 365 Group owner, I can see it from my Power BI Workspaces, but there's one I cannot see. Then I create a new workspace by linking this Team site via Workspace OneDrive.

When I click the 3 dots on the right of workspace names, I can see that the new created workspace has only Workspace settings and Workspace access. But for other workspaces, there are Files, Members, Calendar, Conversations, Edit this workspace and leave workspace.

Why they are different ?

Cheers

Hey @hittony ,

indeed this can become a little puzzling.

when you see this:

you know that this workspace is based on an M365 group (aka O365 group).

But even more important is the fact, that this workspace is also a classic workspace (aka a V1 workspace). The new workspaces (aka V2 workspaces) provide more functionality and is the way to go: Power BI – New Workspace Experience Power BI - Microsoft Power BI Community

You can migrate a V1 workspace to a V2 workspace from inside the workspace settings:

You also have to consider that there will be some time in the future, where old (classic aka v1 workspaces) will be upgraded automatically:  Updated timeline for upgrading classic workspaces | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI

Depending on settings made by your Power BI Service administrator "new" groups created in other applications like Teams will shop up in Power BI or not:

Hopefully, this helps to better understand why you see different options.

Tom
