Hello lbendlin ,

As always appreicate your quick response on this matter.
I am using stored procedure on Import Mode and it does work for me on my credentials because I am the admin and I set up the gateway configuration. Yes, you are correct, I realized that I need to map the gateway first then shows the Data source credentials however when this workspace is shared to my users, the issue comes as I explained on my initial post.

Also, I can expand the parameters section right under the Data source credentials and provide the StartDate & EndDate parameters then click on 'Apply', 

Then, I get back to the semantic model and click 'refresh' on dataset. Go to view the repot; I can see date range has been updated on the report.

Question comes why the users can't do the same thing that I am doing.
1. Is that becasue they need to configure the gateway on their end as well?
2. When the users go to the dataset settings, power bi prompts them to take over and this is causing the issue.

This is the correct behavior for an import mode data source.  You need to adjust your expectations, or change to a Direct Query data source.
