Do you know why the newest On-Prem Data Gateway (April 2024, version 3000.218.7, standard mode) is asking for restart? Previous versions did not require this step. What change or this is only my case?

Karo

Hi @karo ,
The requirement for a restart after updating to a new version of the On-Premises Data Gateway can be attributed to several factors, including but not limited to, the implementation of new features, security enhancements, or performance improvements that necessitate a restart to fully apply these changes. While not every update may require a restart, certain updates introduce significant changes that can only be fully integrated into your system through a restart.
For the specific version 3000.218.7, it's possible that there were substantial internal changes or updates that necessitated this. Unfortunately, detailed release notes for this specific version are not directly available in the public documentation. However, it's a common practice for software updates to require a restart when significant updates are made to ensure that all components of the software are correctly loaded and that any new permissions or configurations are properly applied.

Hey @karo ,
seems it depends on your environment.
On my side gateway client never asked (until today) for a restart.
Maybe other user can share their experience and can help you.
