So, on our system we have a report that uses webscraping data. It was throwing off gateway errors for a while that we didn't understand, until we eventually found that webscraped datatables need gateway access due to the 'web.browsercontents' line in the code.
We sorted the gateway connection but we're now getting a 'We were unable to find the WebView2 runtime' error for this report. Everything I can find online suggests that this is due to webview2 not being installed...but I thought it had been. I remember a issue with it a couple of years ago (probably to do with an update).
Anyway, I now have to make a request to our IT department to get Webview2 installed, moved to the correct place, or updated...but our IT get confused when we request anything PBI related, so if I blunder in with 'please install Webview2' I'm going to get 'We don't understand' and a bunch of those Pulp Fiction John Travolta looking lost gifs.
So, could anyone advise me on what I can say to our IT about installing Webview2? As in, where it needs installing. Just a vague 'it needs installing on the same server as *insert random process*' will do.
Solved! Go to Solution.
It needs to be installed on all gateway cluster members.
It needs to be installed on all gateway cluster members.
Perfect, thanks. That's literally all I need. I just wanted something that sounded a bit more professional than 'system can't find it, please make system find it'.
