Where installing Power BI Gateway
Hi,
I need to publish a PBI report that gets data from a MySQL database.
In order to get data from Power BI service, where do I need to install the gateway? On the server that hosts the MySQL server?
Or are there another option?

Best practice is to locate the gateway on the same network to minimize latency but not on the same machine as the database unless you're sure you'll have enough CPU/RAM resources to run both at peak (e.g. during refreshes).
