Where are my datasets attached?
Hello,
I am trying to see if there is a way to identify which semantic models are using which datasets across multiple workpaces.
Currently i have only found this information by switching the view on the workspace to Lineage view, then clicking the Show Impact Across workspaces to view the information.
We are using Pro licenses and many of our datasets are reused across many reports. is there a more wholestic way to get this information?
Thanks,
Paul
pc23 - You can use the Fabric REST APIs and extract the Reports and Datasets list, and create an view. This will help you in monitoring your datasets and reports.

Hi pc23
If you go to the semantic model, and then click on View Workspace Lineage, you should then be able to see which reports are connected to your semantic model across the different workspaces.
When in the lineage view make sure to click on Browse by Workspace
Also another option is to use the Scanner API data which will give you all of this information.

Thanks.
Unfortunately we tend to make our reports from scratch each time so we don't reuse the semantic models generally.
Defintiely something we need to look into to streamline our processes.

Hi. Open the workspace. Look for the three dots next to the semantic model or dataset you want to check and click at "View item lineage"
That will open a lineage view with all the reports connected to the dataset
I hope that helps,

Thank you. I am only seeing the semantic models when i try this. All of our reports are created on the Desktop and not through Service. Could this be why i am only seeing the semantic models?
