When will the "save a copy" app feature return?

It has NOT not been solved, only a work-around has been provided. But it is still a feature that was bluntly removed and so far there is no communication when it will be back. Will it? 

In my organisation this has become standard practice, and we are really missing this save-a-copy feature in the apps.
