Hello, we setup a data gateway on a windows server in azure to refresh our report on Power BI Service. Our data is taken from a different azure server. So both are in the cloud.
Is it better to install our gateway on the same azure server that our data is on or is it better to have them on a seperate server. What is the best option performance wise?

First, you need to confirm that if your data source needs a gateway
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-onprem
Then install a gateway as normal
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-install
There is no need to install gateway on the same azure server that data is on.
