What is CustomData and why is there no documentation?

I am setting up this option:

When I hit the  I    to read more information I go to:

Manage SQL Server Analysis Services data sources - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Why is it that the documentation talks for pages and pages about EffectiveUserName, but there is no single line about CustomData??

Hi, @Anonymous

Once you have selected CustomData, you need to click on the red box in the screenshot below, and then pass in the string you want to pass in:

You can add multiple entries to a rule.

After you choose between effective name and CustomData, you usually need to manually click add rule >> add the string you want to map.

Thanks for the ansewr... I dont fully get it yet...

CUstomData is:

A string value to be passed to the engine in the connection string and then retrieved by using the CustomData() MDX function or CUSTOMDATA() DAX function. Most commonly used to pass a userID or username as a value, and then specify that value in the definition of a security expression.

So i must pass a string... But as you can see in the screenshot there is no place to pass any string, it just asks me to choose between effectiveUserName and CustomData

Hi, @Anonymous

You can find the definition of this type and its role in the following links:

In addition, I found a blog for you to demonstrate its practical use:
