What do I need to Connect to SQL Server hosted on AWS?

I want to publish to the service a desktop model that connects to a SQL Server hosted on AWS.

What will I need to schedule a refresh?

A Gateway on AWS? Some settings on AWS?

Will appreciate any help on this

Hi,

Please try to configure the data source on Power BI Service setting->datasets.

Hi there

What you would need to do, is to install the Gateway on an EC2 instance in AWS that can connect to the SQL Server.

Then you can use the Gateway to schedule refreshes or DirectQuery

I've looked in the documentation - and no mention of AWS...

The EC2 is a virtual machine?

You create a VM running Windows in AWS and then install and configure the Gateway on this VM?
