Weird Errors with Refresh

Within Power Bi Desktop, I have a dataset that connects to Google Sheets(~40k rows), Salesforce, and Smartsheets. There is a total of 22 queries in this dataset. I publish this dataset and report to Power BI service so non Desktop users can view and ultimately refresh the data. When we refresh within the service, we are running into odd errors that really do not give much information:

DataSource.Error: <ccon>The operation has timed out. (google sheets link) </ccon>;The operation has timed out. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: Unique Projects for SS Joins.

This error occurs sometimes and other times the refresh works successfuly without any change to the dataset whatsoever. We ultimately want any user to refresh the data but this will not work when the owner of the data set is getting these unkown errors.

Hi @patricky15

I have seen this sometimes happen when there are connectivity issues.

To resolve this what I have done in the past is to use my On-Premise Gateway to connect to the data sources. The reason I do this is because I can monitor and control the connectivity to the data.

To do this make sure you have the following setting enabled in the gateway.
