We couldnt authenticate with the credentials provided. Please try again"

I use powerbi desktop to connect to a mysql database. The problem is that I am getting the error

 

"We couldnt authenticate with the credentials provided. Please try again"

 

I am very sure that I am providing the right credentials. What could be the problem?

    Hi sdeb ,

     

    This maybe a permission/authentication error. Make sure you are using database credentials not windows.
