Visual not rendering in the service
Solved it. I saved the file with another name, published it and the visual renders fine...Something breaks in the service (I guess) when I publish the original file.
Thanks for your time and suggestions!
Best Paul.
Hi PaulDBrown ,
Based on my research, one reason that could cause this issue is that the data point limit in scatter chart. As your mentioned previously, you refresh data in power bi desktop manually, your dataset maybe too large while the data point limit in scatter chart is 3500 if you have not enabled 'High-Density Sampling' in it. If so, you can try to enable this option and try it again.
Please refer this document about it: High density sampling in Power BI scatter charts

Thanks again for the suggestion. I checked and the "High Density Sampling" setting is on (it is by default I believe).
I don't think the sampling can be causing the problem, since the values are by country, and I have about 200 in the dataset.
I'm really baffled. I might have to resort to deleting the visual and re-doing it, which is a real pain since there are bookmarks associated to it. It doesn't really make much sense since it works fine in Desktop. It just breaks when published.
I'm going to try saving the report as a new file and publish that. See if that auto-magically solves it...
Any other ideas before I re-do the whole thing?
