Visual Header Tooltip - Report Page - Not Showing in Power BI Service

Hello Power BI Community!

I created a report about a year ago and I used Visuals Header Tooltips based on Report Pages to show descriptions about the metrics presented in the dashboard.

The tooltip was working okay in the Power BI Service, but this week users can not see any Visual Header Tooltip in the report.

Does anybody in the community had the same issue or is aware of changes in the PBI Service that can cause this issue?

Hi cvillami ,

This is an known issue, has been submited internal (ICM: 297170122). Currently this issue should been fixed already in Power BI Service, please try to check it again in other time ranges.

We see the same issue. If you have a Pro license you can consider raising a Pro ticket at https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/pro/

  Thank you lbendlin , I did that and support quickly got back to me that this was a recognized bug and is slated for a patch to come out on 3/26.

Thank you lbendlin , I also creted the ticket.

As a temporary solution, I used a card visual with a mesaure to show the tooltip with a report page.

By my test, it still can show the tooltip in Power BI Service and haven't found updates about this function.

could you create a new sample like I did to check if all the tooltips are not showing?

Hello v-yanjiang-msft,

Thanks for your reply. The tooltip that I'm using is based on Report Tooltip Page and I use the option "Visual header tooltip" an icon/image, not a regular button with a tool tip.

I also use regular tooltips with some buttons, similar as the one you posted in the reply, and they are working just fine in both Desktop and PBI Service, but he ones based on Images/Report Pages are not working in the Power BI Service.

p.s. I can provide a PBIX file but I don't see the option to add a file : (

  In the new version of Power BI Desktop, there's no visual header tooltip for image any more, the tooltip function of image is in the Image>Action, it also works fine in the Service.

    Thanks for the follow-up. I updated Power BI and activated the "Preview Feature" - "New format pane."
    
    To be honest, since the "new format pane" was a preview feature, I did not activate it before. Now I see that the new panel does have the option to include "Help Tooltips - Report Page" as a "Header icons" for images, buttons and all other visuals.

    As mentioned in my previous post, stantdard tooltips as the one you show in your posts, are working just fine. However, I still see that "help tooltips" based or Report Pages are not working on the PBI Service.
