Advocate IViews not available for semantic model
Advocate IThanks, I have discovered they show up in PowerBI (I'm assuming when using default model as creating a separate model doesn't allow us to include views). Based on what you're saying, even though available, they're going to query the database each usage, is that right? How different would that be to referencing the tables themselves?
Is there a new approach to role-playing tables then? Generally a view is created for each role, should that approach change?

This seems to be a new feature and there may be no other way to do it for now.
If you would like to suggest feature improvements, you may vote the idea and comment here to improve this feature. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
