Viewing a report as a role in PBI Service

We have an app on the service with row-level security and I am trying to figure out how to view the report as a role from the server but I cannot seem to find it. Is there a way to do this?

Navigate to the workspace and hover over the dataset. Then you will see three dots. That indicates more options.

You can test the role in service.

  1. Go to Power BI workspace and select the More options menu for a dataset.
  2. Select Security

Now you will see the roles.

  3. Select More options (...) next to the role.
  4. Select Test data as role

You can choose to view data as a specific person or you can select a combination of available roles to validate they're working.
