Viewing Embedded Paginated Reports within the Power BI Service

Currently, I have a collection of embedded paginated reports witihin a app that I am sharing with users by granting access to the app as a viewer but users are getting errors accessing the report. Therefore, as a work around, I have to either grant viewer access to the app workspace or I have had to grant individual access to the paginated report that is embedded. Have others run into this issue and have a work around? Ideally, if a report is an embedded paginated report, I would think that providing access to the app only should work.

Did You find a solution? I am going nuts with all these sharing problems. All reports in my situation are shared via App for read only- works! In one report there is a embedded paginated report but users cannot acces it. If a use a standalone paginated report and use it within the app - users can view both (standaolne and embedded in other main report) . If I set a direct acces for Paginated report for a user - he can view it ( but I can't share for a group as a do not see this group in report acces field)

Morover I can set a direct accces (read) to dataset to a group A of users but I can't see the same group A when I would like to share direct acces to any report. I can share an app for this group A but it does't show up in direct acces field when typing. Why I am able to share a direct acces to dataset for a group A but I can't share direct acces to report (group is not visible)???

When I checked datasets and reports there is an info that a dateset is shared via applicatiopn but for reports - no, no such info...even if users can viem them via app and it is shared in this way. This is extremely confusing.

Hi @Anonymous

1.Please try to give the users of  the app "build" access to the underlying dataset.

2.If your app relies on datasets from other workspaces, make sure that all app users have access to the underlying datasets.

Hi there - Thank you so much for the insight. We've tried testing that approach and are still running into an error for users not being able to view the embedded paginated report. The only additional feature this provided was the ability to Analyze in Excel but still not seeing the embedded paginated report. Are there any other soultions?

Were you ever able to solve for this?
