Using Data Gateway to refresh ONLY ONE query

Good morning,

 

We have a report which has to be manually updated and reviewed before publishing.

 

However, our clients wish to have one measure refreshed daily. The data comes from the same source (ODBC).

 

Is there a way within the Data Gateway or Report to ensure that the daily query is the only one refreshed? Versus having the entirety of the data from that source refreshed? Not talking about within the Desktop App.

    Hi michaelcjohnson ,

     

    THe only way I can think to do this would be to make a separate dataset that has what is required for the measure and have that refresh.  Then, in the dashboard, you could reference that dataset and measure.  I do not believe that there is any out of the box way to do a "refresh this only this one thing" type of command in the Gateway or the Scheduled Refresh from a larger dataset.

    hi  michaelcjohnson 

    To my knowledge, when refresh a dataset in power bi service, all the queries in this dataset will be refresh.

    michaelcjohnson  the only thing i could think of as of now is to seperate the query which needs often refresh and try to connect the report with direct query/Live connection only suppported for AAS
