Users Unable to Load Visuals After Switching to Shared Semantic Model
- 1 year ago
To grant read access to the shared semantic model,
- navigate to the workspace where the model exists
- hover over the semantic model, select More options (three dots ...), then select Manage permissions
- in the Direct access section, add the users
If you are using row level security, from the semantic model -> More options, select Security, and add users to the appropriate groups.
- You only need to do this if you have implemented RLS in your semantic model.
It is in the same workspace. I saw that RLS security moved to Power BI Desktop so I created an empty RLS role and am testing that now. Where would you provide read access in the Power BI Service for the semantic model itself? Most of my users access reports through a published app and do not have workspace access directly at all.
