User activity for an embedded Power BI dashboard
Hello - I'm currently working on a project that involves embedding a Power BI dashboard into a web page. Our clients would like to track user activity and gather metrics such as the number of views, interactions, and specific user actions within the embedded dashboard. I understand that Power BI embedded does not have this functionality built in, but was wondering if there are alternative methods?

You're right that Power BI embedded does not have a built-in functionality to track user activity and metrics. However, there are some alternative methods you can try:
- You can use the Power BI JavaScript API to handle events emitted by an embedded component, such as buttonClicked, commandTriggered, or dataHyperlinkClicked. You can listen to the events by using report.on (...) and then set an event handler.
- You can use the Premium metrics app to monitor your capacity and performance of your embedded reports and dashboards. The app provides various metrics such as active users, dataset refreshes, query durations, and memory usage.Please refer to the following documents for more information.
