I want to have a datasource that users can add/edit data every morning and print out dashboard. Not sure what source to use.
Currently they are entering data for the day into an excel workbook that has a "Data Input" sheet with a row for each day. They enter data into the row for today's date each morning into the columns they are responsible. After entering they go to the sheet for each chart and view/print. I would like to create a power BI report with some nice visuals based on this "Input Data" sheet.
Can I just move the workbook to excel online? If so will visuals refresh when excel is update. If I need to schedule a refresh I don't think that will work because we are only allowed 8 refreshes per day. We have too many users that woudl be refreshing.
Can I move the input sheet to something within Power BI i.e. a table that users update and the visuals refres live, on a schedule 5 second or with a refresh button?
Should I move data somewhere else (SQL Server, Sharepoint list, etc.) and have them update with an online form? Wherever it is moved to it needs to be live connected so they can print visuals soon after updating.
The solution needs to be easy for users to input today's data as these are not sophistocated users. They are shop floor supervisors, plant managers, etc. IT would also be nice if I could use security so that a specific user can only add/edit their assigned fields.
Thanks
