Use Excel in Power BI Service without having an Excel On-Line License (Office License)

Hello Everybody,

 

This is my case:

I have a PowerBI Pro License;

I want to visualize and edit an Excel file located in my PowerBI Service, but i don't have any Office on line license;

Can i do this?

Can i visualize and edit an excel file in PowerBI Service, having only a PowerBI pro license?

    Hi mattiarusso,

     

    In your scenario, as you already get Excel data in the Power BI Service, you can create report directly. Depends on where is Excel get from, when we want to edit Excel, we can choose to edit your workbook in Excel Online or open it in Excel on your computer. As you don't have Office Online license, you can open it in Excel application on your computer.
