Hello,
As a Power BI service admin I changed some setting regarding usage metrics. Since yesterday it shows (AAD) guest users as "unnamed users". Now that I changed this option in the admin portal back to original it still shows "unnamed users" but I want to see their mailadres and name.
Somebody knows what I must do to see mailadres and name again in usage metrics report?
Nothing has changed. I really need assistence on how to see all report users again... Who can help me out?
Hi @Anonymous ,
Sorry for our delay in response, could you please check if the guest user can be seen in the old version of usage metrics?
Best regards,
Hello @v-lid-msft
After turning the old version back on I am able to see users, but for a limited amount of time. For the last 2 weeks it shows unnamed users.
Example:
- Guest user 1
- Guest user 2
- Guest user 3
- Unnamed user (last 2 weeks)
Turning back on the new version only shows unnamed users
Hi @Anonymous ,
Thank you for your confirm,we seems have similar issue in some report even for internal user.
But it works fine in last week, we think it may because we disable the option and enable it again, we will do some test to reproduce this issue. We will update here if we got anything new.
Best regards,
Exactly what I was thinking! Hope your engineers can resolve the issue
Hi @Anonymous ,
We try to dig in the data of Usage metrics report in Power BI Service based on this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-usage-metrics#about-the-usage-metrics-report, it should show almost all of the UserPrincipalName for each UserGuid.
Best regards,
Hello @v-lid-msft
See below image. AAD users are shown by their e-mail. Guest-users in AAD are shown by "Unnamed User". Previously I was able to see all guest users by their e-mail.
Meanwhile the issue has not been solved, it still shows unnamed users..
Anyone has a solution on this?
Hi @Anonymous ,
Please try to verify the status of "per-user data" option in Admin portal, if it only enable for some users, the others's Account information then shows in the report as Unnamed.
Please refer to this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-usage-metrics#see-all-workspace-usage-metrics
Best regards,
@v-lid-msft I turned the setting so that it is enabled to all users. Now it appears that our AAD users are visible but AAD guest users are not. Before (like a week ago) they were all visible.
All users are still unnamed in all of our reports... Any one can help me out on this?
