Helper IIIUsage metrics history
Hi all,
Is there a way to view usage metrics for the entirety of a reports duration rather than just the past 3mo?
The only way I know to do this is to query the Power BI Event Log directly. It has ViewReport activities in it. You can read a day at a time through PowerShell or REST API. Then save the JSON and read into PowerBI or persist the daily activities to a SQL DB. This builds up the history for as long as you want to keep it.
You will need to be a Power BI admin or create a service principal to have permission to read the log.
Once you have this, you can replicate the report usage metrics using your activity data.
