Usage Metrics do i need to have Audit logs enabled

Hi 

Im new to Power BI we are using Power BI Pro licences. We have had a request to enable report usage metrics - our IT are pushing back:

claiming there will storage costs as we will need to get this activiated by Azure Admin of AZ Tennat and 

that Engine logs are detailed and can be high volume and large, averaging 3-4 KB each for complex datasets. Therefore we recommend carefully considering when to use logging for the Analysis Service engine. Typical use cases for logging are performance investigations, scale/load testing or pre-release validation.

Is this correct or is above referring to Log Analytics  are Usage metrics dependant on these - or are they are different functionality that do not require above 

Any advice welcome

Above is referencing log analytics. You don't need that for usage metrics.
