Uploading from SharePoint or OneDrive produces a duplicate report and dataset in the workspace

Hi,

 

My Power BI Service workspace has an existing report (Report1) and dataset (Dataset1).  I want to replace these files with a new version from SharePoint.  When I upload a new PBIX version from SharePoint or OneDrive, I get two Report1 and Dataset1 files.  The names are exactly the same.  This creates a problem because now I have to delete the old report and dataset.  Also, I have to reset the dataset refresh schedule. This is super annoying.

 

The desired functionality should be an automatic replacement.

    You are not alone with this. I will report similar behaviour which feels really off how it should be designed. I need to publish trough OneDrive for Business because of my large dataset and everytime an update is made I get similar duplicate dataset names and report names. 


    I publish "Sales1" to "Dev"- Workspace. If my workspace had a previous version of a dataset and report with "Sales1" I get duplicated "Sales1" report and dataset. 
    Worse still, when I use the Pipeline to push the Sales1 report to "Test" -workspace the duplication of names and datasets happens again!
