When migrating users from Tenant A to Tenant B while keeping Power BI reports in Tenant A, the key changes involve updating data source paths and re-authenticating connections. For SharePoint and OneDrive, the new tenant URLs must be updated directly in Power Query (Advanced Editor) within Power BI Desktop, as modifying only the Data Source Settings is insufficient since the URLs are embedded in the query M-code. After updating, clear existing permissions in Data Source Settings, re-authenticate with the new Tenant B account, and then republish the dataset to the Power BI Service. Once republished, the Data source credentials option in the Service will be available, where you should re-authenticate to enable scheduled refresh. For Databricks, since the environment remains in Tenant A, no path updates are required; however, it is essential that the connection uses OAuth2 authentication instead of username/password or access token, as only OAuth2 enables credential management in the Service. If necessary, reconnect to Databricks in Power BI Desktop using OAuth2, then republish and re-authenticate in the Service. Going forward, it is highly recommended to parameterize the SharePoint and OneDrive tenant URLs in Power Query, so that any future tenant migrations or link changes can be managed by updating a single parameter rather than modifying multiple queries individually.I hope this information is helpful. . For both A and B, both outcomes will end in the same result. Personally I prefer changing it in the advanced editor as that ensures that all transformaions remain the same.
You should not need to make any changes in the power bi service, unless you are using gateway connections for these datasources.
If you made connections on an on prem data gateway for these sources, those connections will need to be updated as well, or rather they should be deleted and new connections to the new resources created.
If you are using personal cloud connect for these connections, then no changes are required in the power bi service/Fabric.
I can't advise on the Databricks part as I do not have experience with Databricks, but your approach seems reasonable from the Fabric perspective.
