Update only certain security groups
I seleted all "groups",Uncheck groups that you do not want. Filter by text will only work if the match 100%, case sensitive and there is not white space in your column.
If you have filtered, but still getting all the data for all groups, it means that you may have filtered the wrong column. Make sure what you see in power bi desktop is from the same column you are filtering.
OR filter the groups after you have expanded the information.
Let me know how it goes, and take a snapshot of what you see in power bi desktop, if you have futher questions.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Sorry if I misspoke, my English is not the best.
I created some dashbord in PowerBI with informations from our Active Directory (on premise, not Azure).
And I would like to limit the update of "groups" (security groups in my case) when I do "update" in the tools.
Not adding users in groups, only have informations about groups.
Because we have so many groups, I have to wait a long time for my reports to be up to date, especially when I work from outside.
If I could only update the information for the few groups I need, I could save time and be much more efficient.
Thank you

I see! You are visualizing the security groups information in the report.
You can go to Power Query editorand at your query, filter only to the security groups that you want:
1- go to the column that has the groups2- click the dropdiwn arrow
3- Uncheck what you dont want / Check only what you want

Hi,
Thank you.
Unfortunatly, it doesn't work.
I create a filter with text and I only select 6 groups.
When I update my repport PBi read all groups not only my 6 groups.
Do you think I have some action to do when I select datas in the Power Query ?
I seleted all "groups", then in Power Query I expanded some informations like group member samaccountname, top cn and other.
Thanks 🙂
